Lovely Nalini Jaywant, who had left her Chembur home to keep Diwali with her parents in Bombay in 1952, returned to her doll’s house cottage in Union Park in 1953.
Shocked by gossip that her marriage had broken up, she indignantly denied the rumor. “I wish,” she declared, “that people would stop telling lies about us.”
Husband Virendra, turning up just then, she smiled happily, saying, “There you see for yourself. My husband is here. We are together as we have always been since we were married.”
Nalini’s present worry is provided by her parents, who are in poor health. (November, 1953).
